Are you someone that starts amassing their holiday wardrobe as soon as the tickets are booked? And then when it comes to packing it all, you find that less than half will fit in your already bulging suitcase?!
If you find yourself guilty of this, then it could be time to reign in your holiday clothes shopping. Not only will this help you save money, but it will also mean you won’t overdo it when it comes to your luggage. Find out below how not to overdo it on your holiday style shop.
Take stock of what you already have
Chances are that you have plenty of things that have been barely worn since your last holidays, so it is time to check them out. Holiday fashions don’t tend to change too much – lightweight knitwear, shorts, sandals and fun prints. Take stock of what you already have lurking in the back of your wardrobe – you might just find some hidden treasures that you’d forgotten about.
Make a list of what you need
Inevitably though, there will be some things that you still need to buy, so having taken stock of what you have, create a list of what you need. Swimsuits can lose their elasticity, flip-flops can be too worn, and hats too crushed, so take a look at what you want to buy again. Do try and be realistic with this list, and stick to what you need.
Look up the weather before you go
And for that extra level of security when it comes to knowing you’ll have something to wear, take a look at the weather before you go. It does fluctuate after all – so even though you might not need to take your raincoat, you might still have to take a scarf for example!
Rein it in and be a bit thrifty with your holiday style shop – it’ll give you more spending money on your hols after all!
